Get your Foundation Problems Repaired by a Foundation Specialist

Seek help from a foundation repair company that has been in business for several years and one that has satisfied customers. In short, do your homework. Obtain written estimates from three contractors. Compare cost of work to be done, quality of materials to be used and how long the work will take. Take into account the willingness of the contractor to explain what work needs to be done. Check to confirm whether the contractor is a member of the Better Business Bureau. Ask friends and family for feedback on the contractor they have used for the same problem.

Once satisfied you have made a good choice on your selection of a foundation contractor, request a written contract. Read the contract carefully and ask for clarification if there is anything you do not understand. Make sure the contract has everything the foundation repair contractor has promised. Never rely on oral guarantees. Ensure that the contract is signed by both parties in the event that problems surface later.

The written contract will include the contractor’s name, address and telephone number as well as a detailed description of the work to be done and materials used, A start and completion date should also be included. Details of payment must be agreed upon and included. A written assurance that the contractor will obtain necessary permits and licenses so that building codes are not violated is also important. A warranty or guarantee with all conditions spelled out is another safeguard that you should request be included in the contract.

Once you are satisfied that the contract is accurate and the contractor is ready to begin work on your foundation repair problems, rest easy and allow the work to begin.
